Fighting The Storm - My Breast Cancer Journey

"Breast Cancer doesn’t always strike because there is a family history. A family history has to start with someone. In February, 2013 I found a lump in my right breast. I was 42 years old. By the end of February I had been diagnosed with breast cancer and had surgery to remove the lump (partial mastectomy) and lymph nodes. My cancer was removed." "Fighting the storm is my journey through breast cancer. From finding my lump, diagnosis, surgery, chemo, radiotherapy, tamoxifen and all the not so wonderful side effects. "

Therapy

The reason for writing this book? Therapy, healing, remembering. At the very beginning, just after my surgery, a nurse told me to keep a diary. I took her advice and for two years I have worked on this in my spare time. I hoped to be able to publish it as a kindle but I had no expectations. Finally I finished writing my story last week and had it published through Amazon Kindle as an e-reader. It was such a great feeling to get to the end and finish this, I read through it a few times myself. I think it is important to remember. So, for anybody else in my situation, considering writing a book or just keeping a diary. I absolutely agree that it will help you emotionally.
